As an "off an on" member of the Pittsburgh Pirates scouting staff for more than four decades, Joe Consoli was responsible for the signing of future big leaguers Mike Bielecki, Tim Drummond, Al Oliver, Bob Robertson and John Smiley. This circa 1970s scout jacket was worn by Consoli on one of his many scouting trips. The nylon button-up garment with metallic snaps is covered by (22) major league team logo 3" patches on the front, reverse and sleeves. A large yellow 3-1/2" embroidered baseball patch placed on the left breast region confirms Consoli's identity. Despite moderate fabric separation to the yellow Pirates nameplate, the overall appearance of this one-of-a-kind piece is not compromised.
