"Muggsy" graces the cover of the offered 1913 World Series New York Giants vs. Philadelphia Athletics program. The publication has a restored cover and tape residue on the perimeter. The front cover is nearly full with approximately a 1/2” to 1” absent along the left edge and replaced by heavy stock paper for restoration, additionally a 2x1 section is absent at the top edge and multiple creases run through the front cover which is also affected by tape residue staining along the periphery. The graphics depict Giants manager John McGraw receiving a congratulatory handshake from a gentleman attired in colonial era garb with the caption “Congratulations John! Five championships in Ten Years!”. The back cover is absent. The last page present is fairly bright with minor soling, a horizontal crease 1” from the top, tape reinforcement along the spine at right and a 1x1 section of tape residue on the left edge. Depicted is an “A.G. Spalding & Bros.” advertisement for their “No. 1” baseball with the caption “The Official Ball of the World Series”. The interior section consists of (10) double sided pages (including the last page described above) for a total of (20) pages of content with numerous photographs including the Polo Grounds, the 1904-05 Giants NL Champions team photo in street attire, 1913 Giants and Athletics team photos in uniform and a portrait image of A’s manager Connie Mack. The scorecard pages are absent. The included pages are appealing with deference to occasional partial separation at the spine and all photos are vivid.
