Charter members of the upstart AFL, the Titans of New York were, like their league contemporaries, undaunted by the prospect of competing with the established NFL. Said club owner Harry Wismer: “Titans are bigger and stronger than Giants.” Eventually sold and re-named the “Jets,” the Titans franchise was part of a dream that came to fruition. While it’s rare that business endeavors with such consequential risk meet with success, it’s rarer, still, to find vintage AFL paraphernalia is the pristine condition of these (17) Titans programs! Issued at the Polo Grounds for intraleague battles, the crisp guides present (NM) throughout and include: 1960: (6) of (7) home dates (including first-ever game); 1961: all (7) home dates, plus team-issued yearbook; 1962: (3) of (7) home dates.
